After clashing in 1981 for "The Showdown", Thomas Hearns was seeking revenge against the great Sugar Ray Leonard. After eight years of delay, the two finally rematched in Caesar's Palace in 1989 for the WBC and WBO super-middleweight titles. Hearns came out firing in the early rounds ready to reclaim his revenge on Leonard, but Sugar Ray would not go away. In the seventh round Tommy came out swinging and fatigued himself, leaving the door open for Leonard to strike back. Rounds seven, eight, nine, and ten went well for Sugar Ray as he fought back ferociously to even the scoring. In the eleventh round Hearns landed three thundering right hands that dropped Leonard for the second time, forcing Sugar Ray to storm back in the final rounds for a big finish. At the end of the fight it came down to the judge scoring who ruled the fight a draw.
