A founding member of the American Association and a member of the Triple-A level, the Kansas City Blues once played host to the great Mickey Mantle. For almost 20 years, Kansas City served as a proving grounds for the Yankee greats of tomorrow. "The Scooter" Phil Rizzuto, Casey Stengel, and The Mick all spent time on the Blues before donning the Pinstripes. Time ran up for the Blues in 1955 after the Philadelphia Athletics moved to Kansas City, the team was taken to Colorado, where they became the Denver Bears.

No man makes it to the major leagues by accident. They have to put in effort, practice, and continue relentlessly working towards their goal. The Blues were an obstacle every future Yankee had to overcome before writing their name in the history books of baseball's most iconic franchise.
