The Havana Sugar Kings were a minor league baseball team playing in Havana Cuba from 1946 to 1960. the team served as an affiliate for the Washington Senator and later the Cincinnati Reds. Fidel Castro was famously a baseball fan and attended many Sugar King games. The team had to leave Cuba during the 1960 season after Castro moved to nationalize all U.S.-owned enterprises in Cuba. The team had multiple players move on to play in the major leagues.
