After first taking the field in 1920, the Bruins would have to endure many years of struggle before becoming one of the nation's best teams. Though they won a conference championship in 1944, it wasn't until 1969 (49 years after their founding) that the team found its way to the College World Series (CWS). During this year, Chris Chambliss would lead the Bruins deep into the tournament, but they were unable to capture a title. It would take 93 years for the Bruins to taste victory at the CWS.
Bruins fans of old are no strangers to the patience and perseverance required to survive difficult seasons. This cap stands in memoriam to the sweet taste of long-awaited victory. For any sports fan who knows the deep satisfaction and pure bliss of watching long suffering team surge to a championship, this one is for you.
