The Mission Reds played the annoying little brother role to the San Francisco Seals during their time in the PCL. Brought to the city in 1926, they were a full twenty-three years younger than the Seals.
Naturally, a rivalry arose between the two teams, but the Reds would struggle to find their place in the competitive scene in California. With modest success (a .480 win/loss record), the Mission Reds would leave San Francisco after twelve years. They would become the Hollywood Stars in 1938 and eventually settle as the San Diego Padres.
