Vintage is delighted to present this dramatic image of America’s Cup winner, Intrepid at sea. The image comes to us from the archives of LIFE magazine and first appeared on August 7, 1967. This image is digitally printed on archival photographic paper that is suitable for in-home, office, museum or gallery display. In 1967 the Intrepid was skippered by Emil "Bus" Mosbacher when she won the America's Cup beating Australia’s Dame Pattie. She won the Americas cup a second time in 1970, skippered that time by Bill Ficker who beat another Australian challenger, Gretel II. In 1974 she came close to becoming the three-time America's Cup defender in history.

Hand framed with 100% natural wood by our family of local artisans in Pelham Alabama, this high-quality frame is professionally finished with custom cut museum grade matting to ensure perfect proportions. Backed with kraft paper, our frames also come with hooks and wire preinstalled. This work of art is ready to be installed immediately and comes as a finished frame size of 22.5x18.5x1 inches.
