Steve Prefontaine was known for his iconic mustache and long locks of hair that parted as he ran.  A man of unworldly quickness, Pre set seven American records in the middle - long distance categories.  The world was shocked when he passed a the age of 24 in 1975.  At the time of his death, he held every outdoor track record between 2,000 and 10,000 meters.
