The New York Cubans were formed in 1935 as a part of the Negro National League and played actually played their games in Paterson, New Jersey. The New York Cubans were the first Negro League team to have non-African-American players. The Cubans won the Negro League World Series in 1947, 3 years before the final season of Negro League Baseball. The Cubans also had two players that were inducted into the Hall of Fame, Martin Dihigo and Tetelo Vargas.
