Gunn & Moore were founded in 1885 by the English cricketer William Gunn and a his business partner, Thomas James Moore. The company was based at Carrington Street in Nottingham, England. William Gunn played first class cricket a soccer. Not unusual in those times but extraordinary all the same. Gunn played for both Notts County, one of the oldest soccer clubs in the world and Nottingham Forrest. Born at St Anne's, Nottingham, Gunn was a specialist right-handed batsman. He played for England v Australia in 1886–87.
This retro bat was purchased by Vintage Sports in London early in 2017 and ships from our facility in the United States. It would make an excellent and authentic gift for a lover of cricket or an anglophile. It would look wonderful over a fireplace or on an office shelf. Sure to be an instant topic of conversation.
