Vintage Sports.com is delighted to offer this rare willow cricket bat by Ben Warsop of England. This bat was made in Little Baddow*, Chelmsford, Essex and in mid-20th centruy and is in good condition with a lovely patina.

Antique Warsop bats are rare and very difficult to find.

Benjamin Warsop was originally from Nottingham, England. He moved to London in the early part of the nineteenth century and established a Cricket Bat workshop close to Lord's, the home of English cricket. Warsop won the First order of merit at the Centennial International Exhibition at Melbourne in 1888 for his revolutionary development of the cricket bat.

In addition to selling to cricket players and clubs Warsop and his four sons supplied cricket bats to Slazenger, Wisden and the Army and Navy stores.

The Warsop's sourced their timber from Essex.Arguably the finest willow in the world.

Warsop (Stebbing) Cricket remains a family business today.   Ships from the United States.

      * Robert the Bruce of Scotland once lived in Little Baddow.
