      It became apparent to the world that the South African National team was here to stay when the team toured the 4 home nations in 1906 and 1907 and fell only to Scotland. From that moment on things continued to improve for the Springbok's. During their 1912-1913 tour, the Boks' emerged victorious against the four home nations, earning the country their first triple crown.

      When the great war commenced, South Africa cemented itself as one of Rugby's two great superpowers (behind New Zealand). When playing New Zealand in 1921, a series billed as the "World Championship of Rugby" The Springboks went 1-1-1 resulting in a series draw, cementing South Africa as one of the world's greatest Rugby Union teams. 

      The number 6 was famously donned by South African Rugby legend and Captain Francois Pienaar. After leading South Africa to victory in 1995's Rugby World Cup, his team was commemorated in the movie Invictus, with Pienaar being portrayed by Matt Damon.
